What the Unbreakable Youth Center Is About

The Unbreakable Youth Center is an online, trauma‑informed, identity‑affirming community for youth ages 10–21. It provides a safe space for young people to build confidence, resilience, emotional awareness, and a strong sense of identity through creative expression, guided support, and intentional community.

Why It Was Formed
It was created to give young people a safe, supportive environment where they can be seen, heard, and empowered, especially those navigating emotional, social, or identity‑based challenges. Inspired by your daughter and grounded in your background as a retired veteran and PhD scholar in developmental psychology, the center was built to uplift youth, affirm LGBTQ+ identities, and offer a space where every young person can grow without judgment.

Our programs and offerings

Creative expression labs

A space for youth to explore art, writing, music, storytelling, and other creative outlets. These labs help young people express themselves, process emotions, and discover their unique voice through creativity and community.

Skills workshops

Hands‑on workshops that teach real‑life skills like emotional regulation, communication, problem‑solving, healthy relationships, self‑advocacy, and coping strategies. These sessions give youth practical tools they can use in everyday life.

Monthly growth challenges

Unbreakable Check‑In Circle (Weekly)

Fun, empowering challenges designed to help youth build resilience, confidence, and consistency. Each month focuses on a theme like self‑love, creativity, mindfulness, or leadership, giving members a structured way to grow.

A guided weekly space where youth can share how they’re feeling, reflect on their week, and build emotional awareness. This circle helps young people develop confidence, communication skills, and a sense of belonging in a safe, supportive environment.

Unbreakable Voices is the official podcast of the Unbreakable Youth Center—a trauma‑informed, identity‑affirming space for youth, parents, and caregivers. Hosted by Laveta Carney, each episode blends grounding moments, real‑world stories, emotional wellness tools, and compassionate guidance for navigating identity, school, friendships, and life.
This podcast is designed to feel like a safe space in audio form — steady, warm, and honest. Youth gain practical tools for emotional regulation, self-expression, and resilience. Parents and caregivers receive clear, supportive insight into what young people need most and how to show up with presence instead of pressure.
